1. ASUS ROG STRIX G17 (G712LWS-EV003T)
With his 17″ laptop ROG STRIX G17, Asus brings out what is called a masterclass. It’s even quite complicated to find flaws in it as everything seems to be perfect here. Let’s take a look: i7-10750H processor (up to 5Ghz), 16GB RAM, 1TB of SSD storage, and a GeForce RTX 2070 Super graphics card. If some computers in this range have at least one component that poses a problem, this is absolutely not the case here, especially since the Full HD screen allows you to enjoy games at 144Hz.
But, because there had to be a but, all this nice little world under the hood leads to a rather disabling problem: the ROG STRIX G17 tends to get hot in the middle of the game. We, therefore, advise the purchase of a ventilated support to limit this “side effect” brought by the top components.
Advantages
- A perfect and very powerful data sheet
- It's not just an RTX 2070, it's a Super!
- 1TB of storage in SSD
Disadvantages
- The computer tends to heat up a bit more than expected
2. Dell G7 17-7700
Accustomed to computers rather dedicated to office automation and heavy professional tasks, DELL has nevertheless decided for some time to go into gaming. Its 17-inch G7 17-7700 laptop is undoubtedly one of its most powerful at the moment, being equipped with an i7-10750H processor (up to 5Ghz!), 16 GB of RAM, and a GeForce RTX 2070 graphics card. The Full HD screen allows you to enjoy your games in 144Hz, perfect for those who are looking for precision in competition.
We’re still a little disappointed with the 512GB SSD. Such a computer obviously calls for launching the biggest games available on the market, or even “modding” them, and for that, it would have been better to take advantage of at least 1TB of storage.
Advantages
- The very strong processor
- The RTX 2070 graphics card allows you to push the computer
- 16 GB RAM, always a pleasure
Disadvantages
- Very limited autonomy (5 hours)
- The SSD of only 512 GB on such a machine
3. Alienware M17 R3 17 inch

Equipped with a powerful combination of the latest-generation Coffee Lake processor and 16 GB of DDR4 RAM, you’ll have all the power you need to process images, videos, and games that require a lot of power. To finish its Full HD edge-to-edge 144 Hz, the anti-reflective coating allows you to use your laptop comfortably.
Advantages
- Ultra HD screen
- Sober design
- Keyboard customization
Disadvantages
- Average autonomy
- Heats up quickly under stress
- Price a little high
4. MSI Creator 17M A10SE-225FR
Although its design is not really usual for a computer bought to play (logical, since the Creator range is aimed at content creators above all), the MSI Creator 17M A10SE-225FR gaming laptop has it in its belly and will allow everyone to enjoy games in the best possible way: in addition to its Intel i7-10750H processor, its RTX 2060 graphics card and its 16GB of RAM, this gaming laptop includes … a 1TB SSD. Something rather rare until now, it is not even useful to have an HDD next to it, as this SSD will be able to fulfill the functions of speed and storage capacity. Perfect to hold Cyberpunk 2077, The Witcher 3, World of Warcraft and many other games on the same media.
Advantages
- Really very strong
- The 1TB SSD which is excellent news.
Disadvantages
- Of course, the price is very high
5. LENOVO Legion Y540-17IRH
The LENOVO Legion Y540-17IRH gamer notebook with its high-quality workmanship and a hairy finish is already starting to score points as soon as the box is opened. Inside the beast, we find an i5-9300H processor, a 6GB RTX 2060 graphics card, 16GB RAM, and finally a nice 512GB SSD. This is not the best possible processor, an i7 would have been much better and an HDD in addition to the SSD could make the whole thing more comfortable, but the other components remain solid.
One of the strong points of this laptop is undoubtedly the Coldfront cooling system, designed to lower the temperature of the processor and graphics card individually. No over-running fans due to a single component, and less overall heating.
Advantages
- Solid GeForce RTX
- 512GB of SSD, always a pleasure
- A redesigned cooling system
Disadvantages
- May be missing a bonus HDD
- The i5 processor is a bit limiting for gaming, especially with an RTX on the side.
